Stuart has been teaching at St. Mary's Creative playschool since 1994, both 3's and 4's at various times. Her educational background includes a bachelor's degree in biology and elementary teaching certification. She was on the advisory board for five years while her daughters attended the preschool, serving as chair for two years. Since then one nephew and three nieces have attended the preschool.
I graduated from East Tennessee State University with a B.S. in Music Education degree (K-12). While my husband was in medical school, I taught music in the Memphis School System for 3 years until the birth of our daughter, Amy. After moving to Alaska and subsequent births of Andy and Adam, I became the Children's Supervisor (ages 2-5) of Bible Study Fellowship (Anchorage) for six years. Prior to moving to Alaska I had been a children's leader for two years in BSF in Memphis.
Before coming to Alaska 25 years ago, I lived in Indiana and Connecticut. I graduated from the University of Vermont with a degree in Psychology / Behavior Management and then received my State of Alaska Elementary Education Teaching Certificate from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks.
Veronica grew up in Juneau, Alaska moving to Anchorage in 1995 to attend the University of Alaska. While working toward her degree in Elementary Education she worked at the YMCA Before and After School Programs. She also taught swim lessons at the Y for children ages 3 months to 12 years.
My name is Ms. Margaret Mackie. I received a B.S. in Art Education (K-12) from State University of New York at New Paltz in New Paltz, New York. I teach three and four year olds in the afternoon classroom at St. Mary's Creative Playschool.
I moved up to Alaska in 2000 with my husband to do some mission work for a couple of years and ended up staying much longer! I received a mathematics degree in 1999 from a small liberal arts college in the lower 48.
